Cordova Covered Spaces is a community project to build covered spaces within walking distance to downtown Cordova, Alaska. Places to help people get out of the rain and to enjoy the outdoors and more experiences including classes and education, creation of art, group meetings, family celebrations and more. Covered Spaces in our community will offer improved year round Quality of life in Cordova.
Our Team
Our team consists of individual volunteers, local businesses, local organizations and is fiscally sponsored by the Cordova Historical Society a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
Organizations in support of the creation of covered spaces in Cordova: City of Cordova, Chugach Forest Service, Cordova Telephone Coop, Cordova Electric Coop., Native Village of Eyak, Chugach Corporation, The Copper River Watershed Project,
Local supporters have donated more that 30,000. and we continue to raise funds through several continuing events including:

We have a few spaces that are covered and as things change, we hope to make sure we do not lose any covered spaces and that we gain some to enhance the community quality of life and benefit economic development.

Project Idea
The idea for covered spaces has been around Cordova for a long time. Two local business owners decided to work toward the community goal of building covered spaces for all to enjoy.
